October 1st

I can't believe my 10 days in Maryland are so quickly coming to an end. I feel I have only just arrived here and now we are packing ready to come home. 

I have included some pictures, some taken in North East showing the front and back of our daughter Jennie and her husband Bills, new home. As you can see its quite obviously American and very pretty, backed by woodland, their water comes from their own well as do all the houses on their part of the estate where they live. We went into North East town one day where these men and ladies were dressed up in civil war gear and posing by their cannon. 

The highlight of our visiting was yesterday when we went to Washington DC and saw some of the main sights, such as The Capitol building, The White House, The Smithsonian Natural History museum and a really impressive Zoo. The Zoo was free for anyone to just walk in and the grounds were lovely. There were deer and chipmunks just wandering around free. The best bit was the Panda's which we have never seen for real before. It was all so clean and the animals had huge outside areas very well maintained. We walked for miles and were very tired when we finally got back to Union Station and climbed aboard the huge double decker train for the two hour ride back to North East.

I have got a little fishing done here but not much but like to show you what I caught so have attached a photo, it was of course, much bigger, in real life!!

So as we get ready to leave the sunshine and warmth (it was 77 F yesterday) we are none the less looking forward to seeing our friends and family and you our customers, back home. And I have to get some soup making done!!
