We are now using free range eggs in all our recipes, cakes, omelettes, all day breakfasts etc. We are also doing an afternoon special between 2.30 and 4 p.m when you can enjoy any piece of cake or gateaux with a cup of tea or coffee for the special price of £2.95. We have stopped doing home made soup now that the summer is here!! As in previous years we will be replacing it for the summer by Greek Salad. Let's all hope for a long, good summer. |

LATEST NEWS For Gluten Free Diets "We have been getting more and more customers that have a wheat intolerance. Therefore we thought we would try a few new sweet items to satisfy the criteria of a gluten free diet.. The whole area is a little complicated at first in terms of the best flour recipe to use. Some use a mixture of different flours, and also you can buy a ready made plain, gluten free, flour where the mixing has already been done. We have baked a shortbread biscuit which is very tasty, and last week Pam had a go at a banana cake made with a mixture of maize and other flours. This one tastes different to a wheat based cake but I suspect it is something that celiacs get used to. We hope this will become a regular choice to our sweet menu but it really depends on how popular and how much need is out there. If anyone has a good recipe for a gluten free cake which has a good shelf life and tastes good, then we would be pleased to receive it and if possible ,'give it a go'" Evening News Feature The cafe was featured in an article on good independent cafes in the Norwich Evening News. Baby Changing Facilities Installed We now have a baby changing table installed in the toilet for the convenience of the not inconsiderable number of mums with toddlers who visit us. We hope this will help to attract more mums and their youngsters to the cafe and will be a bonus for our "regular mums."
